A Family-Owned Endeavor
Naawa is a family-owned and operated cacao company based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. What began through our work in plant medicine and cacao ceremony has grown into a small, intentional venture rooted in quality and integrity.
We operate with a dedicated local team, sourcing directly from family farms and personally ensuring that every batch meets our standards of purity, ethics, and excellence. From our café and chocolate shop in Vallarta to your daily ritual, NAWA is built on intention, care, and respect for the origin of cacao.
Our Intention
Our mission is to restore cacao to its rightful standard — pure, ceremonial, and rooted in origin. We are committed to sourcing high-quality cacao from family farms that align with our values of integrity, sustainability, and respect for the land.
We visit the farms. We meet the families. We taste, select, and ensure that the cacao we offer reflects our values: purity, ethical sourcing, and uncompromising quality. Every batch is chosen intentionally, never anonymously.
Our Cacao Quality
Quality at Naawa begins in Tabasco. We work directly with family-owned farms, visiting in person and collaborating closely to develop our own cacao paste formulation — one that preserves the bean in its most complete form. By retaining the natural cocoa butter and avoiding unnecessary processing, we protect the cacao’s nutritional integrity, depth of flavor, and ceremonial character.
Every batch undergoes careful quality checks before arriving at our kitchen in Puerto Vallarta, where we refine it further and craft the chocolates served in our shop. The same cacao we use daily in our café and chocolate atelier is the cacao we offer in our retail products — held to the same standards of purity, consistency, and excellence.
